Idle question
sorry if this has been posted before. i just did a swap from a d15b8 to a d16y8. i started the car up lastnight and the idle fluxuates up and down from 200rpm to 2500rpm. i hvae been told it is a vacuum leak, but i have blockedoff every line i can find. someone also told me it could be because i dont have any coolant in it(the cross tube on the back of the motor is leaking at the water pump, so i didnt put coolan in it). can someone help?
d16y8 doesnt have an FITV its obd2
check the iacv
its on the back of the intake manifold. take off 2 12mm bolts and clean the screen out with carb cleaner.
bleed the coolan properly as well.
do you have any cel?
edit....put ****** coolant in it, jesus, i just read you didnt put any in it

i just put the motor in last night. and we just started it to see if it would start. the water line on the back of the motor that connects the wtaer pump to the water outlet is busted so the coolant just drains right out. i know it needs coolant, but i didnt think no coolant could cause the idle being fucked up. i got the new water line and im putting it on tonight and i will see how it goes

Make sure your IAC is hooked up correctly, and functioning as well.
The FITv Really doenst make the motor lope, I have a friend who Bypassed his altogather, and it runs perfectly normal.

is the idle air control valve located on the back side of the intake manifold? since i went from obd1 to obd2 i noticed there is some connectors and vacuum lines that i have no place to hook up
