if i had photochop i could point out on a pic what i mean.
is the rear body panel the huge piece that goes over both rear tires (you know where crx's rust on the rear wheel wells - well that entire piece)?
the crx doesn't have seperate rear quarter panels - they are one entire piece.
is that the rear body panel??

from what i've seen theyre just like all other cars its the rear quarter pannel.

see where its all rusty around the rear fender well. im looking to replace that whole piece. im thinking its called the quarter panel instead of rear body panel. i think they refer to the front as fenders and the rear as quarter panels?

The rear fenders are a part of the unibody. can't just replace the whole shell. I've never seen rear quarter panel parts, but I've never looked for them before. Just get a big bucket of bondo! heh heh heh!

 

I remember my cousin calling the dealer like two years ago asking about the rear quarter panels and they wanted like 500 per side. I say just look at the junkyards for clean panels. You might get lucky and find non rusted panels.

 

yea..they're expensive tho. ranging from $100-$200. the sad part is that is the GOOD side. hehe. i think im just going to do the bodywork on it myself. i'll prolly end up cutting a lot of that sheetmetal right off the car..and then replacing it with a clean piece of sheet metal. i dont really care too much how it looks. its going to be all about going very fast.

 

the rear quater is welded into the car its not like a fender you can unbolt, you can have one cut at the junk yard but they need to weld and its a big expensive project.

 

is rust like this even completey fixable by a body shop? i've been looking to buy an old hatch or a crx and they all have the rust around the fender, the crx had rust on the top of the windshield and by the sunroof

 

uhm not when you can do your own work and have access to a shop where they wont charge you labor.
