s2k push start button help!!!!
I have a 97 civc lx sedan. i was trying to install an s2k push start button but couldn't find the proper d.i.y. write up. i took it to a honda dealer and paid a tech to install it. he told me that he would have to remove the aftermarket alarm so that it would work. is this true?? has any 1 with a 96-97 civic with the s2k push start not have an aftermarket alarm?????
thats bull ****. all you need is the button and a freakin relay. any tech with the common sense of a rock can hook the freakin thing up. do not take off your alarm. move this to av and security forum. you will get diy instructions in there.
you won't even need to do that as you can simply splice the wires from your existing ignition switch wiring harness and tap them to the push button. You will need to keep the existing key switch on the column b/c that is your steering wheel lock and the built in switch there needs to turn to that you can still feed power to the ignition system and accessories.
So I guess the way to start the car is to put the key in and put it to position 2 (run) and then just start the car?
I would imagine that is all you need (along with relay of course).
