Removing tint?
The previous owner of my EJ did a terrible job of tinting. Left a lot of bubbles, and cut a stupid flame design on the side tints so I decided to just take it all off.
The driver and passenger side windows came off with ease, took a razor to them, and tore the rest off; but there is still a lot of adhesive left, and it smells like melted wax.
The rear window seems to be the hardest, a lot more brittle than the side windows; I tear off a small peice, enough for me to grip, and it break right off.
Anyone have any helpful hints for removing window tints, and taking care of the leftover adhesive?

hmm thanks. I did consider getting a heat gun to help things along after exhausting all my other options.
Sorry that this was posted before. I'm new to this forum stuff obviously.

I've done about a quarter of my rear window, no heatgun, just a razor and a lot of elbow grease. After a tedious hour and a callous thumb i decided to try and look for easier ways to get it done. I already nicked my defroster line so im past the point of caring about that.
Guess i'll suck it up, and buy a heat gun. Thanks!
by the way, kind of off topic, but am I the only one that prefers a clear window over a tinted one? My friends think im nuts, but I just dont like the look of tinted windows..

The best way is to get a black trash bag.
Get a bottle of ammonia.
Spray the tint on the outside and stick the trash bag to the wet surface and let it sit in the sun for about 30 min. The fumes will work their way under the tint to release it
It should come off in one piece with little to no glue residue.
