Horn removal and replacement...
FIrstly I've done a search on a number of titals and couldnt find anything that told you how to remove the horn.
Basically I'm stuck for time as my car has an mot test in a few hours. Whats the quickest way to remove a horn and replace it on a 1994 eg honda civic vti (sir in japan). ANd how do I do it?
Cheers

Remove the front bumper: there's a screw in each fenderwell and five phillips head screws up top under the hood. You might have to remove some 10mm bolts on teh splash guard as well.
The horn will be on the passenger side of the core support, held in by one 12mm bolt. It has a clip going to it as well. Remove, replace, reclip, done

Cheers mate.. so I definately have to remove the front bumper, or is there a way around that?
Not a problem If I do, as it has to be re aligned anyway.
P.s If I ran out of time is there anyway that I could take the wiring from the old horn and rig up a new one in a different place, without removing the bumper. As it would pass it's mot test then and I could finish it off properly when I have more time..
Thanks in advance

You have to remove the bumper. I tried to take one off without removing the bumper and it's not possible if you have normal human hands and arms.

I'm not sure.. Do you really plan on changing your horn after this? You might as well put it in the correct spot while you are down there. It will probably take less time than trying to get the wiring out and finding a good place to rig up the new horn..

It's where the wheel/tire is.. In the front of the fenderwell [closest to the bumper] there will be a screw on each side that you have to remove to get the bumper off. Use a little nubby phillips head screw driver to get them out. You may get some **** on your arms from the tires. Those screws are the hardest part of removing the bumper.
All in all it shouldnt take much longer than half an hour, but since it's your first time, it may take anywhere from half an hour to 2 hours. Good luck.
