Default Battery died, how do I reset alarm?

I no longer have the key fob for my car and I'm not sure how to reset the alarm. When I put the key in the alarm starts clicking inside under the dash, I imagine that is part of the disabling the ignition process. Anyway, any tips on how to reset it so i can start my car?

Also I looked underneath and read what I thought was the control center of the alarm box and it said magnavox, not sure if that's a honda equipped alarm system or not but hopefully it is. Any help appreciated.

Tried that. In fact this is what seems to be agitating it. Also I am not sure now if it was audiovox or magnavox, which ever makes alarm systems is probably the culprit.

Car is a 96 accord btw.

Leave it disconnected for fifteen minutes or so, then try reconnecting it, everything doesn't instantly reset once the battery is disconnected.

Roger that. Gave it a go but no dice. Also crawled back under the dash and confirmed one of the boxes linked to the alarm was labeled audiovox. Any one know if thats what honda used for OE alarm systems?

If you have the same OE alarm I had, there should be a decent size black box under your dash by the pedals (you can't miss it). Try unplugging the big white plug from the black box (may take some strength to do and be careful you dont rip out any of the wires from the white plug). Then wait a few minutes and reconnect that white plug back on the black box, press your remote do disengage the alram. If that doesnt work, un pluf all of the plugs from that black box, waid a few minutes, reconnect all plugs back on black box, and give it a shot. You should also have a reset button, mine was above the hood release (small black button). Try pushing that while the plugs are unplugged and plugged in. Good luck with it!

My OE alarm was acting up so a couple days ago I just took it out of my car. I couldn't remove 3 wires because they were hard to get to. But, everything is fine, there's just no keyless entry. I'm looking at better alarm systems. I'm not a fan of the OE alarm.

I don't believe the Honda OEM alarm is an Audiovox alarm. Check if there is an aftermarket push button installed somewhere under the driver side dash. If there is a button, push the button while you turn the key in the ignition to see if the alarm resets.

Also, like someone else said, are you sure the clicking is from the alarm unit?

Pretty sure yes. If left alone the clicking will stop. But if any electronic like the windows or door locks are put in use it activates the alarm light and the clicking continues for 1-2 minutes.

Battery while likely dead shouldn't matter when hooked up to my 4runner via jumper cables.
