Default Toda Spec A or B?

Ok I have done a search and didnt come up with much so this is why I asking.

I have been advised that fitting Toda Spec A's you can retain the factory computer and use the factory cam wheels and given that I only want a mild increase without changing too much I am thinking of going with the Toda A's a lighter flywheel and a hi-flow exhaust on my R. Has anyone had experience with the A's??

I notice alot of people seem to be going with the TOda Spec B's and I have been advised that when going with the B's mroe upgrades are required by way of valves springs, cam gears and a new computer is this true or can you do the same set up as the one I just mentioned with the B's.

Thanks in advance

If you are going with aftermarket cams, it is highly recommended that you also purchase and install the company's valvetrain, and get some aftermarket cam gears.... I have seen dyno plots of 195+whp with Toda Spec As, but that is with more mods than you want to do and a lot of time and effort tuning...

Either cams still need to be tuned to gain maximum results. I recommend Toda b's.

blood: What are you running in your car? Mate at least in sydney you can just drop down to adrian at hypertune for him to play with your car and if I lived in sydney I would be doing alot more knowing that there would be somebody there to tune it but I live in Townsville man so have to go as simple as possible

I running stock cams. I would do i/h/e before commiting to cams. Even toda A's are not exactly drop in and go. Best if you speak to jacob (dc2#309) from technik tuning in melbourne. He's running stock cams with i/h/e + vafc and is running mid 13's.

best option before going cams would be to complete your i/h/e setup this way you are letting the engine breath better and then go the cams!....personally if you go TODA i would get their valvesprings, cam sprockets etc etc since they are made to go for each other!

as for the heatshield construction just put in a drop filter either spoon, K&N etc and make a cold air intake out of PVC to let cool air in!

Okay well a spoon drop in filter and what header and exhaust?? I say a spoon drop in because I have tried to source a K&N drop in and been told by the distributor of K&N that they dont bring the Type R Drop in to Australia

i believe jacob has ordered some spoon drop in filters for the DC2!...so that looks well!...as for the headers since all my parts are from ART im sure he can source you any header you wish to suit your taste and budget!...JDM 4-1 is bang for buck item and costs around 1200 dollars give or take!...that should take care of the TODA A cam conversion!....exhaust?...up to you again and also depends on how loud you want it to be...Eg 5Zigen, Apexi , Fujitsubo, Spoon N1 , Mugen etc etc

make sure you get 2.5" piping, since you want to drop in some aftermarket cams!...and I would also recommend either a piggy back ECU Eg VAFC etc....but recommended some sort of standalone ECU..Power FC, Hondata and so on!

DC2#428: Okay well can you let me know how I can go about getting spoon drop in filter from Jacob because I havent emailed him in a long time and dont have his address anymore and as for the bang for buck of the JDM header I would definitely consider this - could I fit my factory heat shield to it so it all looks factory?? As for ECU if I get anything I will get Haltech but I was hoping not to have to get another ECU whih is why i would be going for the Toda A in the first place........
