take the axel nut off its a 32mm then take the lower control arm nut off and pop the ball joint.
Take the tie rod nut off pop it out with the ball joint popper then tap the end of the axel making sure not to hit the thread.
pull the axel out off the hub then take a flat head screwdriver in pry in between the axel and tranny and take the axel out.
also take the strut fork off the fork, dont forget to replace the cotter pins when you put it back together

To remove the axle, you gotta take off the tire, undo the axle nut, remove the castle nut on the lower ball joint, then seperate the lower ball joint. Then remove the shock fork, swing the wheel hub out of the way, and pry the axle free of the tranny.

Why do you remove the tie rod?

I already have the axle nut off and loose and I took off the castle nut....that won't budge though....it won't go up....should I jack that bitch up??

can any1 tell me how to replace the ball joint itself? the nut fell off and the joint fell out of the arm on me at a corner, when the simi-stripped nut cleared the tip of the threads, the threads started moving with the nut. its on pretty tight but there's a little space some where in that area when the wheel is on.

i was asking because you were already discussing a similar matter, and all you need is what i've heard called a pickle fork, or ball joint separator or something but when taking out the tranny to change the clutch i had take both axles out, i went to autozone and asked for a pickle fork, with was the only thing i heard it called, all you do is shove the fork inbetween the joint and the arm and wedge it out. you might have to use a hammer to help get the fork to wedge in
