what aluminum to use for a catch can?

Default what aluminum to use for a catch can?

Im going to make a catchcan pretty much like the tony 1 can but i am going to hide it else where. so i need to know what grade aluminum to use.

I have used 6061-T6 in the past. There are many grades of AL that will work though.

5052 is some of the easiest to work with for stuff like this in terms of bending, cutting, etc

well this will be migged so what ever would be cost/effectiveness. also planned to have everything annodized so it doesnt matter if it all corrides easier.

Just use any alloy that you can bend on a break without it cracking. etc. and you will be fine.

2024 or 6061 are most common and weld well.

that means dont get a tempered aluminum ie. T-6 if youre bending

no im not going to bend it. just going to sqaure it off and weld each side.

Also what do you think about a drain back to the oil pan?
