engine light: intake air temperature sensor
hey guys, i got a check engine light and i am told that its the intake air temperature sensor. what can i do to fix this? i have no idea what the sensor looks like...or what i am suppose to do.. thanks in advance guys...
Let's start simple: What engine do you have and/or what year/make/model Civic?
This information will help us to know where the IAT sensor is on your engine (intake tube or intake manifold, for example). Odds are, if cleaning doesn't fix the problem, you'll have to get a new sensor from Honda. It's possible - though not likely - that Autozone or Advance Auto would carry a generic sensor, but it's worth checking.

if you could take some initiative to help yourself...that would be great

Big, bold, red font at the top of the forum, says search
From that link theres an option, to the right of the keyword box - recent or archive
Try both, when searching, to get what you want

ok, i cleaned it and slaped some di electric grease on it... and still is on. you say the wiring may be a problem, but it couldnt be because of the wiring because i had the swap for about 3 weeks without the cel... am i correct? just want to make sure... so do i ask for a 97 gsr intake ait temp sensor? or for a 93 civic??? thanks in advance
did you reset the ecu after cleaning?
sensor just could be bad - see if you can find another one - all IAT sensors (except ek actually) are the same so they should plug right into the connector
