Default idle issue

okay well first off let me say that its not the crazy honda 1k-2k idle that everyone else seems to have problems with

i could just be needing a tune up but my idle is never constant at all...or is that normal?

like if i started my car to warm and i didnt go anywhere, hit brakes or anything...itll range from 700-900ish i guess, and it feels like its lacking power when i do drive it...any suggestions? also it takes forever to warm up too, (92 LS)

The reason your car isnt warming up may be that you have a stuck open thermostat. Id need more details about the idle thing. Your idle will adjust obviously whether its a cold or hot start but is it varying from low to high?

Usually varying idle like that is caused by a small vacuum leak... a large vacuum leak will cause a high idle. Hard to say though.

it'll normally idle up to about 1.8k at start up, and then gradually idle down like normal but its not a constant rpm, it fluxuates like 100 rpm up or down

My idle is up around 1500rpms and a bit more sometimes depending on weather conditions, but i wouldnt worry bout it. Id to a check for vacuum leaks first though. If stuff like your plugs, wires, cap n rotor dont have a lot of miles on them, then i wouldnt bother replacing them cuz i doubts it the issue.
