Spool valve gasket. Sometimes "VTEC spool solenoid gasket," but the former will probably get you what you need .

Go onto http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com and search for part number 18174. That's the gasket you need. If you can't search for the part number, input your car's specs and search the drop-down menu under "cylinder head".

The VTEC solenoid gasket doesn't require you to remove the valve cover, so I'd leave the rest of it alone

it also comes up as a filter, when i replaced mine, it did.
PS you may also want to order the gasket for the top side of the solenoid while you are at it just to ensure no problems... and remember BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU TORQUE IT! I cracked my old y8's solenoid like -nothing-, GOOD torque wrenchs are your friends!

There are 2 gaskets. The spool valve gasket and filter ( which goes between the head and the spool valve. And then there is the actual Solenoid gasket which goes between the solenoid and the spool valve.

36172-P08-015 This is the actual Solenoid gasket part #. The spool valve gasket I don't have the part # for.

This is true, Im assuming it is a B series. If it is a D series that part number most likely wont work for ya.

It's not hard, there are three 10mm bolts holding it one. You can start and be finished before your first beer is finished.

True that, but...it takes you that long to drink a beer?
