D series with Mishimoto Radiators
Ok, so i just bought one of these and havn't had a chance to fit it.
My question is, what have you all done as far as the hoses and the cap??
I think i will try buying some Autozone hoses and heat them up slightly and get them loosened up and try and stretch them onto the neck....hopefully that works and i don't have to go buy b-series ones.
Let me know how you made it work!

I use samco hoses on my mishi radiator. Snug but no problems.
I used the money I saved on getting mishi radiator for 90.00 shipped to buy the 100.00 hoses.
Still cheaper than a koyo or fluidyne and much nicer IMO.

Ya those Samco are nice but the $ of them makes me cringe!!! lol
Looking for other/cheaper alternatives first.
Thanks fot the reply though

Much nicer? LOL. You think a $90 radiator is "nicer" than a $400 one? You can argue quality/dollar, but not overall quality between the two
The Mishi radiator is a good deal, but it's not in the same league as a Fluidyne or Koyo.

I beg to differ

Fellas......
Not really looking to compare Mish. to Koyo or anything like that, because I don't have the loot to buy one, obviously. Its like comparing JRC and a 1,000 intercooler...
I just want the damn thing to work smoothly and fit nicely
Not to stop the pissin contest, just tryin to stay the course!

DANG! Gotta bring the moms into this and ****. Psh. Whatev.
As to the ability of Mishi radiators - I'd use one in a heartbeat. Although I don't find their overall quality to be quite on par with Koyo of Fluidyne, I'd still rate them higher than anything you can get ad Advance or Autozone

yeah but thats why its my opinion. Koyo and Fluidyne are just different names.
The only thing I don't like on the mishimotos is the drain on them. A pusher type fan of the 12 or 14 inch variety fits them nice on a eg also.
I do not have a show car so the KOYO logo doesn't make my dick hard enough.
The mishimotos are nice enough that I didn't even need a mugen thermo and fan switch. They just collect dust on the shelf.
I even have a hard time keeping the temp up enough for vtec to kick in. That and the heater doesn't get very hot anymore.
So
to mishimotos.
As far as the cap it should've came with one. and just use the hoses that are made for your car or go to NAPA with your old one and compare it to something that should fit.
Or do what the H2B boys do and make your own.

mishimoto radiators are not 90 dollars new they are about the same price range as fluidyne and koyo, ive had the fluidyne in my car, and i bought a mishimoto to polish up but i sold it, comparing the 2 they are the same quality
were' just joshin around slowpokeeg
This is the best way I know of to explain it. I welded for over 3 years, I took two years of welding in highschool and did nothing but TIG weld for 1.5 years of it. When I got my cheap ebay radiator, I was concerned about the quality of the aluminum tig welds. Because from my experience, alum TIG was the most difficult for me to learn. When I got my cheap made in china radiator, i was very skeptical. But the welds looked fine. I would reccomend this product as a welder and a cheapass

Its all good man, i was just lookin for answers.
Ive heard the OEM D-series hoses wont stretch over the neck of the Mishi.
And for the cap, i've heard they're crap and should be replaced?!
Spork, let me tell you just how much Mishimoto is NOTTTTTTTTTT in the same price range as Koyo/Fluidyine! lol

The D-series hoses are of smaller diameter than the B-series - which the Mishi radiators are designed for. You have to hybrid a couple from each series or get some that work on both ends (hard to find).
I've found that OEM rad. caps work best.

See that's what i'm asking. What combo hoses are people using to fit them?!
And i read a post that says OEM does NOT fit.
Sheesh.
I'm corn-fused!

I bought mine brand new for 90.00 shipped.
It was one of the only auction style ones a while back and ended at 3:00 a.m. Well I was working nights and had the chance to watch it close. It closed with me sniping it at 6 seconds left for like 62.00 or something and 28.00 or some stupid **** shipping. So yeah I only paid 90.00 for my mishi shipped to my house.
I have a B-series so I bought B series samco hoses and they were snug. I put a little oil on the inside of the hoses before I put them on and when I had to take them off a couple weeks ago they slid off without too much fuss.
OP you could get B-hoses and just clamp them down tight or double clamp them on the engine side so they don't bloat too much.
Otherwise its a good DIY project.

I used oem hoses and put some dish soap on the inside of the hoses and slipped them right on. also used worm gear clamps as the stock clamps would not fit. no issues after 15,000 miles
