Used TL vs new Civic
The last time I had an experience with an Acura was on a new Legend. Test drove it. It was one of those "some day" type of cars. The car (1994) was smooth, quiet, solid, etc. Nothing like a Civic. Well.... I owned several Civic since, both used and factory new since. No matter what year or model, it just does not have the "luxury car" feel. I was wondering if some TL owners can tell me how their cars have aged. Let's say 5-10 years. Does it still have that "luxury-expensive" feel that a new 07 Civic just can't deliver? It is the engine still smooth, quiet, or does it sound and feel like an old car? Do you think it's worth looking into a used luxury car vs a new econo car?
Not quite as old as you were asking for but we have a 05 with 35K miles, and it still feels brand new (and to me it really is). Some people would trade it in another 30-60K miles.
I have a 02 CL and the car looks like it is brand new. I have 52K on it and this is what I have had to fix
1. lower ball joints at 45K (WTFudgesickle?)
2. trans will be replaced shortly (under warranty)
ride is nice and quiet, power is very good, fuel economy on the highway is excellent (32MPG at 70mph), lots of features, cheap price when I got ir, even chaper now.....

the new civc drives totally different from all civic before. I driven like all models of civic and the new 2007 drives a lot better in terms of luxury.

i too have an 05 tl with about 34k miles and it's as smooth as i got it with 5 miles. the engine is quite while it still delivers the vtec roar when i push it. suspension is as smooth as can be and i have absolutely no problems with it. only downside is that it's not a type s!

the TL gives a more luxurious feel over the new civic. i just bought a new civic, and it just feels "new", nothing luxurious about it. but i think it'll be a different story if the civics comes with black interior and leather seats.

Luxury Civic??? I had a last gen Civic Si and I would never even think about putting Civic and luxury in the same sentence, guess those new ones have really come a long way.
I have an '03 TL-S with 40k+ on clock, I had the tranny replaced last year with the updated one. Aside from that the car performs wonderfully. I have no complaints at all and I drive quite a bit for work. I bought my TL-s used last year and the thing tha surprised me was how good a deal I could get. I bought the car for less than new Civic and at the time it barely had 30k miles on it.
