Default Widest radials?

I'm using VPDs w/ 24.5" slicks at the track, but now I'm looking for maximum traction on the street.

I'd love to run some sort of DOT slick, but nothing bias ply. What's the widest DOT radial I can get? I'll buy whatever matching front rims I need to fit the radials.

Some things to consider:
-Car is daily driven
-I'm only linterested in straight line performance
-Cost/treadwear mean nothing to me

TIA

235/60/15 M/T radial. I recall someone that ran a 255/50/15 BFG but I'm sure they rub like insanity.

Dang, those are some tall combinations... What overall height should I be looking for, seeing as I only run 15psi on the street?

The M/T you listed gives a 26" height and the BFG nets a 25". I was thinking maybe a 24" would be better?

Best overall is a 225/50/15 BFG. We used to run a 235/60/15 on our Power Street car and surprisingly, the 225 seemed to work better.

the 225/50/15 hooked 5th, and the mt et street 235/60/15 hooks 3rd gear on the same boost... the taller tire gives you a longer gear, making for more traction... the car looks kinda goofy, but jacked up all the way i can make a turn alright... ..... if the only thing you want is traction, the mt et street is on a different level then the bfg..

Well I'm confused, because some people say ET streets are the best, then others say something like "ET streets are supposed to be the best, but for some reason I hook better with the BFGs."

Also, if I raise the front to accomodate the larger MTs, won't my car be squirly (unsafe) on the freeway as the rear end starts to lift?
