Default picked up a new set of wheels for the '97 R

i found these in the corner of my friends shop

Sprint Hart CPs, front 15x7.5 +32, rear 15x7 +32, all wrapped in 205/50R15 RT615s

i've always loved the CP-Fs and its a pity they never made them in 5x114.3. but these more than make up for them

i've had 3 sets of RT215s and these are my first set of RT615s. the 615s will see the same duty as the 215s (75% street, the rest HDPEs and a couple of auto Xs). my first impression is that the side walls are softer. along with the improved ride quality, they're also noticeably quieter at speed. since the ride is not as choppy as before so i was worried that it'd suffer from tire flex under hard cornering. to my relief they turned in as true and sharp as the old Azenis (i've driven them mounted on a 7" wide wheels), however the steering ratio seems slightly slower probably cause of the wider set wheels.

anyway, the main thing is that the absolute grip has increased (probably cause of the improved compound)

i have a set of RE01Rs coming for my Type Cs and i'll let you guys know how they fair with the RT615s

I was never really a fan of those wheels, but they look really good on your R I wish i could find a set of 5 lug Dunlop CP-R's in silver.

I really like it. It reminds me of my buddy's 97 R with Red Gabs. Unfortunately the car was stolen out of his drive way a year ago or so.
