No engine check light

No engine check light
hi guys, i have an integra LS (1990)
when i turn my key usually, the check engine light comes on, then i hear the fuel pump wind up and then the light dissapears i turn the key to start and the engine kicks over all goo.
BUT now... when i turn the key there is NO check engine light at all and no fuel pump noise, and when i try and start it it just engine cycles forever...
i have reset the ECU and checked wiring..but i have no idea what to do, is it possible my ECU is just dead?
any help would be awesome.
