alternator problem?
i have a 1990 accord ex auto. the problem is that the car shuts off when stopping at times whenever ive got accessories on. and whenever braking i can hear the radio volume going lower, the lights fade, the blower motor slows down. once i pull of again you can hear the volume go back up and the car basically goes back to normal unless im going up a hill in which case it does the same ****. ive realized that it tends to happen when i have alot of accessories running ex: wipers, heater, stereo (with sub if it matters). when the car does shut off sometimes itll want to shut back off and when im driving and step on the gas you can hear the car sound like its running like **** and itll stop revving at 4krpms as if i had a rev limiter. it normally goes away once i leave the car sitting for a couple of minutes. im guessing the alternator is at fault.anyone have any idea?
autozone and crap dont really know what they are doing with an amp volt reader (avr) they are just told how to use it and what the expected numbers are supposed to be. Check your connections. If ok then take to a good shop to have tested.
still sounds like you have a battery or alternator problem..even if your radio is set to high it still shouldnt do that..if I were you id still take it and have both tested just to make sure..because I know I can have mine set on loud and nothing like that happens at all it runs just like normal

idk, but i have 4 interior speakers, 2 tweeters, and the subs connected to the 4 channel amp so i thought i was straining the poor alternator lol. i gave it a voltmeter test. with the car off the battery was 13.01 volts. with the car on it read 14.2 volts and with the system on blasting it read 14.10. thats normal right?
well its not gonna hurt to get the alternator and battery tested though...midaswell...I also had the same setup as you a while back and that never happened to me if I had the cd player set to high or whatever...i mean who knows..but like i said it wouldnt hurt to get those tested! only take a couple minutes too!
