Car vibrates or rumbles
1994 Honda Accord EX
Ive been having this thing for awile so its unrelated to the other things ive been having.
I have this rumble or vibration in the car whenver i hold down the brakes, and it stop over time, but right when im driving for only a bit it rumbles.
.It run and rides smooth when moving, but when I apply the brakes at a full stop and sit with my foot on the brake peddle to keep it from moving, like at a stop light, it vibrates enough to be felt in the front of the car. When I take my foot off the brake and accelerate, the vibration stops. Then, when I stop again, it starts again. You can even hear the vibration.
This happens even when i just started up my car and its in park.
Oh yea and sometimes it doesn't rumble at all.

My prelude also seems to have this problem, but I have not been been able to find the solution.
However, a warped rotor wont cause the car to vibrate at a dead stop. If your rotors are warped, you will feel shaking when you're using the brakes while in motion.

Ok, you need two people to do this. One guy sits in the car. Start the car, hold the brake pedal down (hard), put the car in Drive, push the accelerator (just a little). Second guy stands to the SIDE of the car (with hood up), looks at engine, watches for movement. Do the same thing in reverse. Depending on which side of the engine moves more will tell which motor mount is broken. Hope this helps someone. Good luck
All motors tend to pull only one way when revved or under acceleration. so it would be very difficult to tell exactly whic mount is shot. In a FF they usually torque to the front of the car. In a FR usually to either left or right depending on make and model. The red baron used this for his advantage in WWI to take sharp turns in the air to swoop down on the enemy.. But it does sound like a bad MM or TM.
