How can you tell the difference between a JDM type r motor and a JDM gsr motor??? Isn't a b18c a JDM type R motor??? How can you tell if it is really a JDM type R motor?????

they are both b18c's look for the one with the pr3 head, red valve cover(not the most reliable way) The gsr will also have the wierd buterfly dual intake bs.

ITR has PR3 head, and GSR has a P72 head. IM would look different if the GSR still has the stock manifold.

Gsr have an upside down manifold, Type R's look like the B16 manifold.

Gsr have regular valve cover color: Black, Type R's:red

Gsr: B18c1, Jdm Type R:B18c

As referring to internally...how much time are you willing to spend with inspecting the internal?

Do you plan to buy this motor off of somebody else's hands?

Please be more specific..or you can also search..Honda-tech has plenty of useful information.

All of that was right except JDM GSR and JDM ITR = B18C.
While the USDM GSR = B18C1 and USDM ITR = B18C5.

To the OP: If you are just looking at the block- assuming its a JDM block- There is no way to tell. But you can also look at the tranny if you can't look at the head

Okay you REALLLY need to search but since being the nice guy that I am , I shall tell you differences and similarities.

Differences: Head, Intake Manifold, Tranny, Internals(Cams, Valve Springs, Valves, Pistons, etc. ) - So that'd include internals of the head AND block.

Similarities: Same block cast, meaning if they were both bare- its the same sh*t.
