Here's your basic view. I tried to keep the car looking clean yet slightly different. The hood I stole off of a Camaro SS and then wrapped it in carbon fiber-look tape. I thought it came out pretty good .




My avatar. You wouldn't believe how many bugs get stuck on that scoop.




An older pic. Not much has changed except the trees now have leaves. Oh and I broke the antenna off while washing the car a couple weeks ago. This is just to show the blinging wheels.




The meat of the car. Not too impressive, just I/H/E. Next step is Toda Spec A cams. That won't be for a while though. Realistic next step is to remove the washer fluid reservoir. The WiNdShIeLd WaShEr LED LiGhTs y0! that I have don't spray, they just light up. Actually I didn't feel like drilling in my hood for the factory squirters, so I'm just gonna take out the whole system.




A really poor shot. I didn't realize that the lighting was quite that bad when I took the pic. But you get the idea. Just the **** and the boot, with an Eclipse deck hiding in the background. Notice how the boot sags down in the console. Teg boots are a tad bit bigger than Sol boots.




Why Mugen pedals suck. Or rather, why muddy shoes and little metal shavings don't mix. Check out the clutch pedal. Yuck!




The newest edition to da Sol. Type One axle back from R&D. Really pleased with it.

Now just take off the rubber edging around the fenders.

 

I find most people either love the hood or hate it. It's cool. I just wanted to do something a little bit different than the stock carbon fiber hoods.

And yes, that rubber...well actually it's plastic...stuff has to go. I just need to get out there and break it off. It's really stuck on there quite well.

I really like the car itself, but the hood, wheels, and stance of the car is off a bit. I love Sols, I think they're great cars, I just think they look best mostly stock with maybe a small set of wheels and a terribly agressive stance.

 

Would you elaborate a little more please? I think I understand what you're saying, but I'd like to know more about what you mean by "stance". Do you mean the way the whole car looks or the drop or what? I'm not mad or anything I'm just curious .

EDIT: I really wanted some feedback on the car, since hardly anyone knows anything about imports where I live. So by all means be as honest as possible.

great car but the hood really doesnt flow with it at all, love the rims and the plastic hasta go to

 

The only things I don't like about it are the fender moldings (like everyone else) and the clear corners. It takes a while to notice the scroop on the cf hood then the car looks too busy between the moldings around the wheel and the clear corners. I think it will look nicer with some amber up front to balance with the rear lights.

It needs to be just a little bit more subtle. Otherwise,

dc24me: I hadn't really thought about taking off the clears, but now that you mention it I'm really interested in seeing what the car would look like with the ambers back on. Might have to switch that out tomorrow. Also, in my opinion the bright white of the clear corners and bumpers doesn't go that well with the hood or the semi-dark wheels. I just kinda left 'em on when I got the hood. Something to experiment with anyway.

ImportHatch: The tip is supposed to be blue. I don't know whether it just comes out like that since it's titanium, or whether it's there purely for looks, but I like it regardless .

Anderson: Tomorrow if it's nice I should be able to get some pics of the hood. I'll just post them here I guess. Overall I'm happy with the quality, although there are a few things that I wasn't too pleased with about the hood.

Hon-duhhh: I was joking man.

escapist13: Y'know, I would go the Indy meet. I really would. Lars is quite a character and I'd like to hang out with him again. But (fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) I'm moving to Washington in June, and don't feel like driving 2300 miles back to Indy. Do you know Billy in Louisville? When he did my exhaust he mentioned something about having a small meet there. I might be able to do that if it's soon.

REALLY nice car. i love the hood (and i am not a proponent of scoops or aynthing of the like so this is an anomaly), the boot looks gorgeous in your car (smooth, dips, flows), and your wheels look great with the hood. What kind of engine? stock B16A?
