How do install a windshield
i paid to get mine done and i watched the process. it doesn't look hard. heres what i remember.
1. the guy first used a razor blade or knife to cut the glue around the rubber surrouding the windshield.
2. he then removed the rubber and set it aside(he put it back at the end)
3. then he scraped as old glue off the car as he could then used the knife to cut around the windshield to free it from the car.
4. He pushed the windshield out of the car and the small crack i had on the windshield got hella big. he used some kind of suction cup things to lift it out of the car.
5. he then put the new one on and put new glue all around the windshield sides and placed the rubber back on top. he smoothed it out and cleaned the excess off with some kind of alcohol? not sure.
6. last he covered the edges with blue painters tape and charged me 180 dollars.
its not a write-up. this is just what i remembered. hope it helps.

my first job was in a detail/glass shop. trust me, your windshield WILL leak if you attempt this with no training. why do you think there is certified courses? you need special tools or youll be there all day wishing you just spent the money. how do you think your going to lift the new windshield in, you need 2 people with huge suction cups, unless your really really fit. and what primer/adhesive combo will you use to seal the window in? get my drift? how much are you really going to save after you go buy a windshield at retail markup, and probably a new moulding, cuz I almost guarentee youll ruin it.
Get a rockchip, go to insurance and pay the deductable, mines 200 bucks, theres no way i could fix it myself for even double that.

it's one of those if you have to ask then you are not ready thing.
it looks easy, so is rebuilding an engine, just some funny rulers and circle things, right?

Is all aftermarket glass junk, or just some of it?
The one on my Accord and the one on my old rex are/were both junk. I'd like to replace mine with OEM glass, but I don't know if that's practical.

Used to be 626...$200 is the price I've seen here in Jersey (it was OEM).
Point was to pay, regardless of the price, to have it done right.
