Update: Both users on the board who attend Virginia Tech are safe

Not sure how many are aware of what has taken place this morning, but i know we have a couple ITR owners who attend Virginia Tech. A just got off the phone with my friend from High School who is currently in the building directly next to the 1 of 2 buildings that the shootings took place in. He is there completing his Master's in Engineering.

I know that username Circa - Jon is currently enrolled down there. Just wanted to everyone a heads up. If anyone knows Jon's # i would say please give him a call to make sure he is safe. I do not recall the other user's name who i know attends there also.

I'm also a student there. Everyone I know directly is OK, but a professor of one of my roomates is dead, and 3 of his friends shot. Hopefully they'll be OK. it still doesn't seem real.

 

Just talked to Jon and he's fine. Everyone is getting a million phone calls right now.

 

Hey man... first and foremost i am glad you are safe. You were the other user on here that i couldn't think of. Very sorry to learn of this nonsense that happened this morning. This **** makes me rage inside. Again... glad you weren't harmed.

Thats crazy. hopefully those who are there are ok.

glad you two are ok though.

 

Heard the shooter was a asian guy...People are so selfish...if you suck at life you should not take others down with you...i pray for the people hurt and their families

 

CNBC and AP just confirmed 31 deceased.

Lets not post anything we don't know for sure yet. I have heard about 5 different things that SUPPOSEDLY happened, but i don't want to spread rumors that aren't fact.

a number of new stations are making that claim also

 

Two rumors i have been told were just confirmed fact!

32 are now being announced as having been killed! There were students jumping from the building in attempts to flee the 4th floor.

 

Glad to hear our ITR folks are ok.

The just shjowed a video on CNN that a student filmed from outside the building...Wonder what made this guys brain click into rambo mode...

This is a really sad day............
So many innocent people lost their lives

 

I didn't hear about the incident until noon today because I slept in. My condolences to all victims, their family, and friends... such a horrible tragedy.

 

This has saddened me all day, what a horrible thing to happen to so many innocent lives. I wish the families of the victims my condolences, and hope that somehow someway some good can eventually be brought of this unfortunate tradgedy.

 

Im totally shocked. Ive never seen anything like this on a college cmapus.
