Motul Motylgear 10W-40. Semi-synthetic like GM synchromesh. With a friction modifier called Ester-Tech. This MTF/Gear oil is specifically made for Honda transmissions.
0% shear. Smooth as butter, and has a higher heat temp range than Honda MTF, while still remaining smooth when cold.
Quite a few people I know, including myself, use this in our ITR trannies, and have been very satisfied.

GM syncromesh made my tranny leak from the two halves. I've gone back to regular Honda MTF and it is back to normal now.
GM syncromesh is the most foul smelling liquid i've had to smell. Disgusting.

NO WAY!
Where do you get this stuff from???
Seriously though, I don't know why questions like this keep on popping up every few weeks when they are all beautifully available on the site discussed to certain death.
The only "new" information that has come from this is the fact that Honda has released a new MTF recently....but nobody has yet to return with their findings as to whether or not it is better/worse ...like how they went with the smaller oil filters years back blahbalhablhablh.....

I put in a brand new ITR tranny late last year, ran it with the old Honda MTF for about 20k kms. Just installed the new MTF last week, noticed it was a bit thinner than the old MTF. Also it appears clear in colour with a slight purple tint to it. Shifting is way smoother and feels lighter.
In my old GSR tranny I was running regular Syncromesh and I was impressed with the improvement it made over the old MTF.
My ranking of fresh fluid:
New MTF > Syncromesh > Old MTF
I just keep changing the MTF often rather than buying the expensive boutique oils.

really? I bought mine for 21.87$ (CDN) for 3 quarts in November, and it was the new stuff.
