Default Fix for Glovebox opening problems!

Well, i did this about a month ago, and it's worked now through several autocrosses, with hard race-tire launchs that inevitably would open my box before i did this. Here's the page, check the rest of the site if you haven't already of course

For the record, it's even worked with tons of crap in it at an autoX (owners manual, flashlight, assorted crap)

Interesting. For anyone still under warranty with this problem, though, I suggest complaining about it to the dealer. Mine used to pop open on big bumps or during hard (street) launches, and after one or two attempts to adjust it, the dealer just replaced the "whole thing" (note: I'm not sure what parts were involved in "the whole thing"). It's never popped open since.

Nice Solutions.. but I better stop by in your garage to see yours before I tampered with mine.
I got confused reading your instructions.. LOL.. but not your fault..
My brain stopped working today somehow...

heh, for those who don't care about the details, just bend the tab that i circled in blue back about 50 degrees. Then, you can lock, pull handle, and unlock, and it's set. easy!

I guess, despite all the things Honda got right on the Type R, they forgot to upgrade the glovebox to deal with the increased horsepower.

You guys kill me.

Considering how many people replace the digital clock with a carbon fiber panel, I'm actually surprised more people don't take out the glovebox to save the weight. I bet they would if the JDM ITR didn't have the glovebox!
