Default New Guy

Hey there folks Just Sold my Ek9 and EG6 and away to get myself a nice late model EM2.

Silver with the Leather interior hopefully. Should be picking up the car as soon as.

Obviously taking a step down from the Twin Cammers i Have some cash to splash on the new car from the off £1k ($2k)

Soo first off will be to get new wheels. Im thinking no bigger than 17" since 15"s were perfect for the smaller hatch

Also a nice set of coilovers to give the car a more aggressive stance.

Any recomendations for either

The plan is.. in the future to plop in a UKDM K20 Engine or Turbo the D-Block. I aint power hungry but like something i can chuck about

Cheers guys and I hope my stay here is a good un!

Yeh its not so much starting quick, the wheels and suspension mods are only getting done as I chose the Coop over an EP3 meanin i have some spare cash left over. Plus, theres so much EPs over here i wanted sumthing a bit different. The engine tuning or transplanting will not start for another year or so. unless I find a really good deal on some bits of course

I'm not certain where "Buckie" is, but you may want to chat with my buddy ONLYuk7thGen here on the forums. He's got an '03 EM2 in Silver, and he might be able to help you out with some hunting in the UK (if that's where Buckie is).

Cheers Matt

Heya mate, nice to see another UK EM2'er on here!!! I might have to change my username now... lol

North o' Scotland eh? Nice. Well it sounds like you've got a plan in mind for the old girl anyway, and i'd agree that 17's look about right on the EM2 because of the arch size. Although 16's also look good, as many rides on here will testify to.

If you can get anything at "mates rates", be sure to pass the good-will onto me! Oh, and if you're definitely K-swapping, keep me informed on how it's going mate cos i keep changing my mind whether to K-swap or wait and get a CTR or a DC2 or DC5. If yours goes ok i might be tempted to use you as a guinea pig

haha Guinea pig? Ill bear that in mind. Only thing with the EM2s compared to say a DC2 is that when you drive a DC2 you know where its focus lies.. I kinda have the feeling that even with a swap the EM2 will still feel more of a cruiser than a sports car..

Not even collected mine yet tho so hopefully when i introduce it to my friend. Mr B-Road it will change my mind

lol, only kiddin' bud. I know what you mean about DC2's though, it's like the car is an extension of your thoughts and it just does what you want it to.

In stock form, you'd probably think the EM2 would roll and pitch like a good 'un...

...and it does, it's like a friggin boat. However, get yourself some decent wheels, tyres, suspension and you're laughing mate. It might not be the fastest car in a straight line, but on our B-roads it doesn't need to be, it's all about the handling, which once fettled, is pretty damn good to be fair.

I've got KW V1 coilovers and Work 17's, and i love the way it handles/steers. I'll eventually get a front one peice strut brace and upgrade my rear anti roll bar like a few of the other guys here have, then it should be awesome.

From there, swap the K in and i don't think you'll be disappointed at all mate.

By the way... you're not on any UK civic forums are you by any chance...? CSC maybe?
