ABS Code
Ok well I dont know if anyone remembers but a little while back I posted a topic about my ABS...I bled my ABS system and after that the ABS light came on while driving and hasnt come on since then but I ran the code and it did a short flash...paused...and then one more short flash..anyone know what this code is..I looked it up on the 94-97 integras but there is no 1-1..just 1-...so is that what it is or what do you guys think?...ABS pump motor over-run?
hey i saw you post and i have 94' accord EX with H22A swap, but even before i did the swap i have this problem when i start the car I get a buzzing sound on and off for a little while then i'll hear a click then it will stop and the ABS light will come on do you know how to fix this??
The code repeats itself, so that's what you probably have. Someone with an Accord Helm book of that year could check that list to see whether code 1-1 exists for an Accord. I got that list out of my Integra Helm book.
I think its just a 1-...but im not sure I just need to know how to fix that..my ABS light hasnt come on since then which has been a few weeks ago..but when I jump the connector the abs light still flashes so I just wanna know how to fix that. any help is appreciated!
Pump motor over-run just means it runs too long. The ABS computer knows how long it should take to fully pressurise the accumulator. It's something like 20 seconds, which seems like forever when you're sitting there waiting for it.
Running too long can be caused by a few things. If the pump is bad, it takes too long to get the pressure up. If the system is leaking, that can cause it too - but you can look for a puddle of brake fluid under the ABS modulator.
Over-run can also be caused by air in the ABS system. Bleed it since that's easy. But you've already done that - or did you mean you've bled the main brake system? I've written about how to bleed the ABS several times, have you found instructions for that?

yes i bled the ABS unit..but I think I may have bled to much and got all the fluid out and maybe there is air in it now..ill try to bleed it again soon and see if that fixes it..its not leaking fluid at all...so I know thats not it..ill bleed it and see if it still throws a code 1..thanks..also can you point me towards a link on how to bleed it I forgot! thanks!

Oh well, I searched for a few seconds, it'll be faster to just type it again...
Bleed the main brake system first.
Get a hose that fits tight on the ABS bleed screw - and a jar to squirt fluid into.
Keep that hose under control when you bleed. If you open the bleeder too much & blow off the hose, there's enough pressure to cut thru your skin. You don't want your face to be in the way...
Take off the rubber cap to the reservoir. Under that, there's a funny plug with a tiny pinhole. That comes out too, leaving an opening that's still pretty small for pouring fluid into. You may want to clean up the reservoir first, so you can see the fluid level.
1 - Fill the reservoir.
2 - Crack open the bleed screw just enough so the fluid flows. You'll only get a couple ml. Close it right away when it stops.
3 - Start the engine & let the ABS pump up. (I don't think the pump will run if you simply turn on the key?) Turn it off.
4 - Repeat 1 & 2 & 3 a bunch of times but don't ever let the reservoir go down. It's kinda big & flat on top, but once the level gets down to a certain point, it sucks dry very quickly.

thanks a ton man..yea I think I just let it get way to low and it got air into the system because before when I asked about bleeding it someone told me to bleed it until there was 0 fluid and I think thats what happened..Ill fix that asap..thanks jimblake
ok so I need to bleed it fairly low..fill it back up and bleed it a little more and then fill it up and go go go!? correct..sorry for all the ?'s I just wanna make sure before I do this again!
If you just want to bleed the ABS, just do those instructions up there. Don't worry about letting it go down low.

Or... If you'd like to exchange all your brake fluid now, here's what to do.
A - bleed like before, but DON'T refill the reservoir between bleeding it out. Keep repeating steps 2 & 3 (above) without filling the reservoir. Quit when you get no more fluid.
B - Now fill up the reservoir & AGAIN go thru the above procedure INCLUDING keeping it filled. Bleed it & keep filling the reservoir & don't let it go dry.
