It's a final drive, it's one of the parts in your tranny that can drastically change gearing. They have some info on it on howstuffworks.com

I just got my MFactory FD installed about a month ago.

It hase to be one of the best bangs for the buck.

Only thing i hate about the h22 tranny is it locks out on me all the time and i have done every thing it seems like and nothing will make it stop (h22 in an EG)
