Upcoming weekends CMP prep. 56k warning!
Well had a few things to tie up from last DE. MSD wires had to go, VSS needed replacing and due to CMP's surface being much smoother than Sebring, I decided to lower the car another .5" Along with all that I had the tow hook to install and finally got my I/O port cam mount while I was at the 12 hour. Oil change and trans fluid flush are also in order, but won't happen until later this week. Along with the lowering job, I'm going to get the car aligned again and reset the camber again. -3 up front, and -1.5 our back.
Anyway... on to the pics. I have to say I'm pleased at the moment.
Parts necessary for day's work. Stock plug wires, VSS, I/O cam mount and tow hook.

Car going up on lift.

Under hood before work.

So last time I was out, first session I had issues with the speedo jumping and fluctuating. Also had Vtec engagement issues. Both signs of a bad/going VSS sensor. That day, I disconnected and reconnected the connector to the VSS about 5-6 times to ensure a solid connection. Never had anymore issues through the day except a few fluctuations of the spedo. I decided better safe than sorry and ordered one.
To get to the VSS sensor, remove the intake arm. Looking straight down, you will see a connector going straight down towards the left rear side of the trans. Disconnect this connector and with the removal of 2 10mm bolts, she's all yours.
This is the bad VSS still installed in the car.

Notice the green color on the center pin. Tell tale signs of corrosion.

This is what it looks like with the VSS removed.

This is the part you looking to remove.

If you do have corrosion on your VSS, this is what you want to use when you replace it on the connector side of the wiring harness. This will help remove/break up the corrosion on the connector.

Up she goes to get to the sussy. Remove all 4 wheels, on the PIC setup, you will loosen the bottom most tension ring, knowing how much you want to lower the car, you will move this "ring" up the threaded shaft. It's not to bad at all to do.
Front sussy with wheel removed.

Rear sussy with wheel removed.

This is the gap on the rear now. I ended up lightly rolling the "tab" that holds on the little rubber pieces. No rubbing at all.

Once the sussy was done, I lowered the car back down on the ground and checked the gaps, clearences and if I had achieved my .5" drop. No issues so far, but I'll bring the spanner wrenches with me just in case to CMP.
Next, I removed the front bumper so that I could install the tow hook.

Moogen intake horn...

Tow hook now installed.

Last up for now, the I/O camera mount. Finally I can review all of my mistakes.

I'll have a review once done this weekend. Hopefully I got it all right and don't end up rubbing somehwere.

Looking good as always, Dave.
We should really get him his own little spot up in the FAQ section with these write ups.

Yeah yeah...
If you can't install an emblem, just LMK and I'll walk ya through the process. I hope to come back with some pics. Depending on vid quality, and amount of on track mistakes... there might be a vid...

I can't wait. Honestly, this is my fav mod at the moment due to the fact that it's very hard to really see/determine what you doing wrong while your doing it. Hopefully this will give me some insight and help me improve.
