Default Overpowering Sub with Kenwood Amp

I just bought

Infinity Reference 1030w
10" 4-ohm subwoofer

# recommended power range 50-250 watts RMS
# peak power handling 1,000 watts
# frequency response 25-400 Hz
# sensitivity 88 dB

Would this amp be okay?

Kenwood Mono Amplifier (KAC-8102D)

http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/...onics

I'm worried that the amp will over power the sub, I will not have my music blaring at 80% all the time, currently I listen to everything at 60% of max...

This is the deck I have... http://www.jvc.ca/en/consumer/...-G510

Thanks, Alot for all your help

John

A 300W amp on a 250W sub is not considered "overpowering".

Do you know what a gain **** is? (not meant to sound condescending)

Does that not control, the amount of voltage coming into the amp.. to the sub???

Some what like "Volume" Control..?

not precisely, but for layman's purposes, yes.. it tells the amplifier what signal it is receiving and ideally should be matched to the output signal from the deck, but for your purposes, just be conservative with them or you will get into clipping problems.. otherwise, you should be fine...
