What are camber kits for? Do I need them to get rims?
Ok so I have many questions, hoping someone will answer them instead of flaming me and telling me how dumb I am, because this is most likely basic ****...but here goes...
I have a 1996 Honda civic EJ6.
I currently have these suspension upgrades:
Full Coilovers:

Lower Control Arms:

Here are my questions that I would really like to have cleared up.
First what are camber kits FOR? Is there anything that I will notice performance-wise...?
This:

Someone told me that I should buy these....for when I get my rims and tires...because if im planning to slam the ride (Which I am) my wheels will be slanted in, and it will be very bad for the tires....
So my question is, what are they for? Is this true, that I should get them with rims/tires (16 inch) if I plan to slam the ride.
Another question....when I get the camber kits and install them....do I first lower the car to the exact height i want, and then go to an allignment shop to get it alligned...? Will they allign the camber kits and everything ..? Im not sure if this is making sense...hopefully someone can explain it to me.
The current impression im under is that:
First i buy the camber kits and get them installed...
Then I buy the rims and tires balance and mount them,
then I lower the ride to my preference.....
and finally get it aligned perfectly....and never touch the height again...
is this right?

yea, you pretty much right...if you slam your car and u have no camber kit, your wheels will sit like / \ ....so you'll eat up the inter part of your tire really quick.....if you get the camber kit, install it, slam and throw your rims on, drive to an allignment shop and have them do an allignment so your wheels sit like l l that way the tires wear out evenly through the whole tire...
Depending on how much you lower the car, you may still get too much negative camber. Slight negative camber is preferable, but if you plan on lowering like 3", then you are bound to have too much negative camber.
But yes, if you lower your car, you will need a camber kit so that you don't eat up your tires.

Hell i dropped my car 2.25" or something like that. ( Can't remember right now. ) and drove around and did maybe one burnout and in about a two weeks of driving around with the camber, my brand new tires where gone on the entire inside.
I now have Front & Rear and alil happier with tire lifespan.

Oh btw dont stock cars already have camber kits...why cant those just be adjusted for the camber to be striaght .... will they break or soemthing since they cant handle lowered cars?

stock civics don't have camber adjusters from the factory
that is why they sell camber kits

Just keep in mind your car will likely ride like **** if you slam it. All of these will likely happen:
1. You'll be riding on your bump stops and will have degraded performance because your suspension will not be damped properly. Not only this but your *** will feel all the bumps.
2. Your tires will rub the underside and inside of the fender wells. You may also slam your upper control arms into your fenders.
3. Your dampers will bottom out and blow after several of these occurrences, resulting in your car riding only on the springs = bumpy ride.

im not slamming it THATTTT far down
just a little...so it doesnt have that monster truck look...
wouldnt the coilover kit i bought with pro shocks and all that handle the slammed ride?...it aint goin thatttt far down...

So just a lowered stance... because you didn't specify the height, it wasn't clear when you were referring to "slamming your car." Typically with that use of the word, the car is loooooow, as in you scraped your exhaust on a pebble.
With the parts you mentioned, you should be fine.

I noticed this post and thought someone could maybe help.
I intially lowered my car 2 inches (camber kit, 5 way adj. shocks, and 2 inch lowering springs).
My camber kit was spueaking REALLY bad this last fall and the guy who replaced all my springs, shocks and bushings (except the upper control arm bushings/camber kit) lubed up these bushings w/lithium grease.
However, someone earlier said something about your upper control arms might actually hit your fenders. Well, that is EXACTLY what is happening to my car. To the point where the paint in the rear is thining b/c they are about to pop out of the quarter panels. I won't even drive her rt now it's so bad.
Could this be b/c I need shorter upper control arms or maybe new up. control arm bushings (cmaber kit)???

That makes no sense whatsoever. The only thing that would be rubbing on the outer part of the fender are the tires. And your problem is that you are lowered too much (even with the camber kit) or you need an alignment.
