VX Tranny Identification
I just bought a VX swap w/100k on it to replace mine with 238k on it. It came with a tranny, but it looks like it might be a different age from the motor, but I think it might have also been cleaned since it was off for a clutch.
Is there any way I can figure out if this is a VX tranny or WTF it is?
Thanks!
I'm a D-series noob so please forgive my stupidity.

A stamp on the side near the right axle. It should read A00 or something like that. However, the DX,CX and VX all have that stamp.
Only for sure to find out is rip it apart and court the tear on the gears or drive it and let us know what is MPH to RPM.

Damn...I might just install it and drive it.
Couldn't I just put it in gear and count the ratio of how many times the input shaft needs to spin in order to spin the axle once?

I just notice you said to replace your. What wrong with the original tranny. Beside it's not going to hurt anything. If you have a DX or Si/Ex tranny your gearing ratio will be quicker and the gas mileage will be different.

I was trying to keep the VX gearing. I think my tranny has a little whine, and it has 238k on it. The tranny I bought probably has lower miles, since it came with the low mile motor, but I want to be sure on the gearing b/f I throw it in there.
