Default oh great another new noise....

ok soo this weekend i finally came back up to PA to work on the Integra....got here last night....got here late soo i didnt mess drive the car last night just went down to the garage to drop all the parts off....soo i got up this morning and drove it down to Dunkin donuts..on the way down i had the radio on soo i didnt hear anything but on the way back it was off and as i was pulling up at the garage... every time i moved the steering wheel either way i would hear a slight "TING TING TING TING" noise...and it would only do it if the wheel was turned slightly to a side...i came home and took the wheels off and made sure nothing was touching the rotor or axel....does this mean the axel is bad??...i need help fast...i am only in PA till tomarrow afternoon.....

thnks aj

PS...the noise is very slight...u can only hear it if u listen for it

does it tick when you turn the steering wheel standing still or while driving?

if the speed of the ticking increases with the speed of the car, you might have an axle joint working its last few turns.
you mentioned you took the time to raise the car and remove the wheel. didn't notice anything out of place, torn, or grease spills eh?

no nothing out of the ordanary..made sure nothing was touching the rotor or any other spinning part....what if i pulled the boot to the axel joint back and filled it full of grease?....would that spare me any time?...i dont have the money for a new axle right now...haha

haha. good try, but grease can't fix a broken joint. haha.
i remember having to change mine years ago and i bought a new one at kragen, autozone, or someplace for under 100bucks.
you did say you don't drive it much, so that'll give you some time to set up a lemonade stand and save a couple bucks.
it'll knock more and more til one day you'll need to tow it back home.
so i wouldn't be too hard on it.
