if the speed of the ticking increases with the speed of the car, you might have an axle joint working its last few turns.
you mentioned you took the time to raise the car and remove the wheel. didn't notice anything out of place, torn, or grease spills eh?

no nothing out of the ordanary..made sure nothing was touching the rotor or any other spinning part....what if i pulled the boot to the axel joint back and filled it full of grease?....would that spare me any time?...i dont have the money for a new axle right now...haha
haha. good try, but grease can't fix a broken joint. haha.
i remember having to change mine years ago and i bought a new one at kragen, autozone, or someplace for under 100bucks.
you did say you don't drive it much, so that'll give you some time to set up a lemonade stand and save a couple bucks.
it'll knock more and more til one day you'll need to tow it back home.
so i wouldn't be too hard on it.
