my opinion is they dont look bad, unless they are any color but red/black

 

Its ur ride bro do what u feel looks good. i have mine red i dont feel like a ricer.

 

stock calipers painted red =definitely rice

black and other mild colors are tolerable

would wrinkle red be considered rice, although i highly doubt any1 would want wrinkle red on caliper...

im not sure if i wanna go thru and paint red like i planned might go flat black........

 

i painted mines black it looks cleaner like that. better then a rusty looking caliper.

I painted mine black. I just like the low-key look of black. If you're trying to bling them with red or yellow or spoon blue they are ugly

 

My opinion is either black or silver (that's the color of the calipers on new cars), but other colors eh.......

wrinkle red on a caliper? haven't seen it, but yeah, id def stick with the flat black, much cleaner look.

 

only silver, or zinc plated. red only if you have a baller setup, and black if it's a semi-baller setup. yellow is porsche only

I'm just curious what a semi-baller brake system is? Mine is pretty much a stock system with drilled rotors and SS lines and good pads. Is that semi-baller?

I hope I'm not committing a brake fashion faux-pas.

i would consider "semi baller" to be a gsr 4 corner+under hood upgrade

"baller" would be like a nsx upgrade, or a brembro

 

Red calipers look like a bum.

 

i think on stock or oem brakes other than say dc5 r brakes any kind of metal or machine looking color is good... ie. black, silver bronze etc.

i just did mine the same bronze as the Mugen active gate itr brakes and couldnt be happier

 

yeah, bronze actually looks decent sometimes


I'm a fan of semi-polished

but I polished mine and they became permanently dirty a week later...so yeah...so much for that

corvettes are rice imo.... most owners get them to look cool and boost ego... cant mangage to better an NSX on the track with twice the displacement and HP....

dont get me wrong they have a sick suspension setup.... but the car isnt engineered overall to utilize it at all....

 

bbk kits look fine in just about any color


however I thought OP was referring to DIY painted stock calipers.....

yeah brake dust has an etching effect... aluminum or soft paint doesnt stand a chance

yep, sucks I didn't consider that ahead of time, polishing them was quite time consuming

Since they're rusted to hell right now, I'm thinking of just slapping on some of those plastic Spoon caliper covers

 

alot of cars come with red calipers. so red is not RICE
