Default 98-00 6th gen coupe 18x7.5 offset

I did a search and came up with correct offsets for smaller size rims (15"-17")

But im looking at getting some enkei 18x7.5" rims. the ones i have found and like only come in a "et" of 35. will this work with my car? (00' accord coupe ex v6)

Also does "et" stand for offset?

i found the rims i want, but need to make sure that a 35 offset is compatible with my car in an 18"x7.5" size.

if they will work, ill put 225/40R18 on them.

if anyone knows if these will fit, please let me know

There's a chance they will rub the fenders, depending on how much you are lowered (if you are), and alignment settings.

really depends on what tire you run, and what drop you have. but, i will say that it will probably fit. i was dumped on 17x7.5, et37 with 215/45-17's, and didn't rub.

im not lowered at all, im all stock suspension wise.

so since i am all stock, will i run into any alighnment issues? also, is it possible to run say a fifty series tire on this size rim safely (225/50/R18) or is it best to stick with the suggested 225/40/R18

On stock suspension you should be fine iwht no rubbing. If you carry a lot of people though it might rub. You shouldnt have alignment issues.

Im on 18x8 with 35mm offset and im dropped. Im like 1.5 fingers out back.

If you run a 50 series its gonna have a higher chance of rubbing.

no lower than 42, good with 45ish, 50 for lower drops. all should use 225/40.

If you wouldnt mind, could you post up a few pics of your car? it would be awesome if you have any pics of you on those rims without and drop also.

Also, do you maintain your full turning radius on this size rim?

you do relize that the larger the number, the thicker the tire? so telling someone to use a thicker tire on a drop is not such good info . i just wanted to know if i could do it w/o a drop and w/o rubbing.

Ill try to get some pics up. Ive never tried to do a full turn on my car yet but I think it will rubb if I did.

Im pretty sure cb7.42 is talking about offset, not tire size.

are you thinking you would rub because of the width of your rim?

or because of your drop? or a combination of the two?

and just for clarification, do your rims stick out at all? i guess i dont really understand what the offest does to the wheel.

sf - you asked about offsets and that is what i stated...

plus you have to factor in drops, camber, and tire size since you probably wouldn't want to rub.

This guys has that combo and is having problems with the stock rear bumper but i think hes problem is something other then just tire size. http://www.6thgenaccord.com/fo...=6326
I am running 225/40 on my 5Zigen 5Zr 18's I believe the offset is +35. I have no problem with rubbing. OH im also on eibach pro kit with KYB Gr2 shocks.

Sorry, for some reason i thought you were talking about tire size, since i did ask about that as well.

Are you a 6th gen accord? if so, would you mind posting up some pictures of your car with those rims on.

And just for tire clarification, if it turns out there are no issues with the +35 offset, than i will get 225/40/R18 tires.

EDIT: just noticed that chomorro's car is a 6th gen.
