If you buy another ignition switch youll have to take it to a locksmith so they could redo it for your key.

Not too sure if a locksmith can make a single key to match up with the tumblers from the two locks (door/ignition).

my 93 civic got a new ignition when it got broken into and the key was different, but it still worked in the doors. the key u got now will probably open up a million other civics, but it wont start them. the door tumblers are easy to get around

if your ignition is bad all you have to do is transfer the tumber in the new one so you can use the same key

like hatchi said, you can transfer the tumbler from the switch so you can use the same key. i had a 98 ek i bought for 1,000 that i had to swap a new column into.

if you take out your door locks, and take them to a locksmith, they should be able to redo the tumblers so that your new igniton key will work.

just got to a junkyard, pull all door lock cylinders and the ignition, along with the key. Get the serial # so you can get keys made from the dealer for it.
