Default can we have a meeting of the minds here please? serious topic.

mods please do not lock this thread in the hopes of me trying to create some sort of peace among 5th gen civic owners/ 99-00 si owners and type "R" owners.

1st id like to say ive been seeing alot of bashing going on lately, people dissing on hatch owners, civic Si owners,R owners, etc... just alot of hate lately.

R owners saying statements such as "hatchcrap" and people calling the 6th gen si a "fat pig" or "slow pos" and others saying "R" owners are snobby,etc....

i dont care what weapon you chose to mod out, if its what you like and you can afford then please dont DOWN another person for making that choice.

if you can afford the type r more power to you, dont down someone because they drive a hatchback or drive an si. and vise versa, hatchback owners dissing on si owners saying they can build a super racer for the money they spent on their si, blah, blah ....anyone that hangs around here enough knows all the mud throwing that goes on. alot of R owners have a sour taste in their mouth from all the hybriders, and they call them kids w/ hatchcraps, you know alot of bust our asses for every penny we make just to be able to buy a legit motor from a yard.

i know there has to be a good amount of hybrids out there w/ hot motors but you cant blame this on hybriders themselves per se, alot of this theft has to do alot w/ yards price guoging (SP?) and people unfornately seem compeled to buy hot items cause they cant afford it or whatever, im not by any means saying its right.

this whole import scene has triple in the last 2 years or so, alot of young people are getting into it cause its the "cool" thing at the moment, in 2-3 yrs theyll move on and only the true enthusiast will still be around.

im 28 and i was into modding out my cars when most of the people here were still in middle school, all i know is this most of us work hard for what we have.we feel very proud of what we have accomplished and paid for w/ blood sweat and tears.

so whether you drive a type-r, si,hatch or even a $100 rusty civic, please respect others. enough w/ the ignorant comments, stop hating, wave high to your fellow import passing buy. theres enough hate in this world as is....

Very good points you put on there, I personally don't take offense from hatchcrap but if I had a hatch, I still wouldn't get mad. I know their state of mind, how mad they are for getting they're parts stolen and put into hatchbacks. All I can say is don't keep your car outside with all these fockers outside.

i dont take offense to hatchcrap..
however, i do take offense when they refer to ALL, yes ALL hatchbacks with ITR motors thieves. but thats been discussed many..many times already.

i work 130 hours every two weeks getting paid 9 bucks an hour
my old job was similar, but i got paid 11.44 an hour
i have no bills to pay except rent and cell. what i'm sayin is that theres probably a lot of hatchcrap owners like me who work hard to step up to the big brother.. the ITR. it sucks, i dont care if you dont give me the props i deserve, but dont put me down for having a motor.

I too have noticed that SOME itr owners are snobs.
I too am tired at all the shots at hatch owners. Especially regarding stolen stuff. Just because their are ITR parts floating around doesnt mean they are all stolen. They dont seem to make a fuss about all the Del Sol or GSR seats floating around.

As for choice of weapons... Roger Foo beat a team of RTR ITRSs with a Hybrid EG, with a b16 no less. Not that this is the case all the time, but it was the case one day.

I have ITR front and back seats in my EK. I will have a ITR motor in there shortly. My car is as big a target as an ITR. And I know the source of my seats. And I dont have to tell any ITR owner where I got them, and if they are hot or not. Why? Since when was it their business.

It seems like every single ITR part that goes for sale they question. And there are even a few jackasses on here (one of them is leaving thank god) that wants to be the ITR PART POLICE.

And the other thing that gets me.... Some people say if you dont see it come out of a shell, you dont know if it is stolen or not. Excuse me. If I go to a legit shop or motor dealer and buy a motor with a reciept I am buying a legit motor as far as me and the law are concerned. I am not recieving stolen property.

And I wouldnt care if the car came out of a totalled wrecked car, or a totalled stolen car. Meaning a shop or wrecking yard bought it from the insurance, and I bought the motor from them. Completely legit. Is it my fault the insurance company totalled the car out? Is it my fault your beloved r got stolen? No and no. Would I like a R motor in my car? Yes, who wouldn't.

Do I have sympathy for people that got their r's stolen. Sure I do. Hell, I got my radio stolen and I felt like ****, I can only imagine what its like to get a car stolen.

But that same sympathy isnt going to keep me from buying the motor out of your totalled car. And I dont know why you think anyone else shoudn't either.

I agree. I don't take offense to the names just the fact some ITR owners (Very bitter ITR owners) are labeling Hybriders theives, when they have no idea who they are. Just stereotyping and assuming. **** happens, get over it, move on.

But no I think "Hatchcrap" sounds cute lol

i agree that there is definitely a certain amount of hate going on and i would hope that we can all be mature adults and just get along. even tho my R was stolen and stripped last month and probably sitting in some ********'s hatchback right now, i don't blame all hatchback or hybrid owners. however, i do place blame the thieves who stole my car, and much of my life, and i feel that all thieves (shoplifters, cat burglars, petty thieves, bank robbers, etc) should go to hell for violating our personal space and lives. there is no space for thieves or hate in our society. to quote rodney king, "can't we all just get along?" i think we should all get together sometime for a meet and do a drive across the country picking up auto enthusiasts of all shapes and sizes along the way. the huge convoy of beautiful cars would be a helluva sight and i would be the first to sign up for a drive like that! peace to all hybriders, hatchback owners, and itr owners past and present, and to all auto enthusiasts. have a on me and just sit back and enjoy the ride! (just don't drink and drive!)

A Honda is a Honda. I don't care what it is.
I take offense to the ******s, yes ******S, who say that all hatchbacks have stolen motors. Especially those with B18C5. Really pisses me off.

I think all it is, is that someone jacked their **** and now they are all bitter about it. Then one day they got ******' WORKED by a hybrid and now they are a salty dog. Cry me a river...

Just because I own a hybrid, doesn't mean I steal cars or buy stolen goods. Grow up.

I agree with your comments. I think the word "hatchcrap" is used by non hatchback owners and hatchback owners in a joking manner. I love nice clean hatchbacks. Hell, I'd love to make a "project" car in the future using a "hatch" with a nice GSR/ITR motor swap. I think "hatchcrap" is not used in a negative manner most of the time.

Most of the comments I've seen were between friends who were joking w/each other.

The "Roll a hatchcrap" and "Roll an R" stuff started with the east coast road course people. They are joking w/each other, and I assure you they have the deepest regard for each other.

I think some people are overly eager to get into mudslinging contests because their skins are too thin. I mean if someone gives you a based on what you have said - that's their opinion. Nothing you say to them is likely to change that opinion - yet many people seem to think otherwise.

I think people just need to be a little more civil and tolerant of other people's opinions (however flawed they may be). Peace

i agree w/ that but its seems like everyone seems to be segradated, you got the "R" crowd, integra crowd, hatch/hybriders crowd. seems like alot of anomosity going on lately.

heck you cant even drive down the road w/ out other import guys giving you the death look, vw crowd, corvette crowd, bike owners, they all wave at each other or give themselves the thumb up. you dont see that in our circles.

i see alot of fighting within our own circle, why? cause someone can afford an "R" an is very proud of it? or cause someone chose to buy a hatch and go that route?

whatever floats your boat and your budget right? hell take SIINSI for example, this guy can afford any car he wants, he chose a 6th gen hatch and a 5th gen hatch, why? cause he likes hybrids. im sure if he wanted a type-r he could buy one and cause he has every modders wet dream some peeps give him slack! wtf is up w/ that. too much jealousy and hating going around.

dont be bitter towards hybriders cause someone stole your type-r, dont hate R owners cause you cant afford an R,or whatever. please respect your fellow bretheren.

if you want to give an opinion cool, if you cant take critisim grow up. dont post here and then get defensive for a little comment. if someone gets out of line w/ an ignorant comment, then retort or report em.

You guys that say you bought your motors legit and they werent stolen or I have papers and yada yada yada. You are all missing the point.

About 95% of Hybrids ARE STOLEN!!! How do you think you got the chance to buy the motor? It was probably stolen and or wrecked AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER. I dont think a guy just up and decideds to sell his ITR motor from him unwrecked car. However I have come to beleive that most are stolen. You may very well have papers. But like someone else said you do not know for sure unless you have a VIN and watch the motor pulled. Otherwise you have to assuem that papers that make it "legit" are legit papers. Papers are easy to forge... You can NEVER be 100% unless YOU buy it from the insurance company and put it in yourself. Otherwise at somepoint you are taking the buyers word for it. Now the ONLY person I, read I, know of that has done this is Merritt. But I do not doubt there are more. I have no grudge against hybriders or hatchcraps. I just think you guys are crazy for driving around in an ugly hatch...

Whatever is whatever. I dont and wont care until my **** gets jacked. At that point I will be taking my 24Gs+ and putting a Down payment on an NSX. So someone PLEASE STEAL MY CAR!!!!!!

c'mon like alot of motors arent coming out of japan? canada? please 95%? you know that supply and demand is what fuels thieves and yards for that matter, but i think 95% might be grossly overstated.

Let's see I have an EG with all type r stuff and a genuine type r and guess what..... they're the same car. All this talk is like making fun of you best friend just because he happens to be a little skinnier or fatter than you are. What does that say about the type of person you are. The cars are so much alike that their is no need for bashing.
Remember it's not always the car, it's the driver that needs the most modifications.
