track car
im planning on getting into autocrossing in the next few months and i was wondering what upgrades i should consider for my 97 accord to make it better
mods so far:
vented hood
weight reduction
d2 racing coilovers
front and rear strut bars
lower tie bar
aftermarket wheels with kumo tires
catback exhaust
throttle rotor (which sometimes makes my throttle stick...)

remove throttle roter and vented hood.
i would suggest a helmet and some seat time with an instructor.
i once had illusions of auto crossing. now i just want my car to not die on me (which it did expletive YOU)

lol why would you want that anyway go into a turn and your throttle sticks? Game and depending the type of hood you got you might even be great more drag then aerodynamics

What wheel/tire combo do you have? If they're 17+ I'd recommend putting the stock wheels back on with some high performance tires. You don't see many people autocrossing with 22" dubs.

yeah defintly go with something smaller with really good tires well before any mods help you get some track time.take a class take time to learn the car

put your car back to stock. with those mods you will most likely be bumped into a higher class then what your ready for. get some seat time. btw you'd get more information on what to do to get ready for your first auto-x over in the road racing/auto-cross forum.

If you're there to have fun. Just go with what you got. Just make sure your car can handle it. It's going to take a mild beating. Your maintenance should be up to par.
If your serious about racing, go take dude's advice and go back to stock. With those mods, you'll be mathced up to cars and drivers that will beat the crap out of a slightly modded accord.
Those 17's will only slow down the car because of the weight of those wheels.
Maybe look into getting a separate track car. That's what I did. Keeping my accord for DD and fixing up a 85 mr2 back to stock to race.
