code 65: secondary oxygen sensor heater malf (with good sensor)
'96 HX stock...
Helms says the resistance across the heater circuit (black wires) should be 15-40 ohms. I checked it and I had 0 so the circuit was shorted inside the sensor. I grabbed a good sensor and it read 18 ohms so I put it in and I still have the code (yes i reset the ECU several times).
I tried putting a 10W 20ohm resistor at A5 to ground to simulate a heater and nothing happened. Then I tried jumping A6 to A5 which is the primary heater then it threw code 41 and 65 (primary and secondary heaters).
I'm trying to figure out why the hell I'm throwing code 65 when I have a good sensor in there! I even checked the resistance of the new sensor at the ECU to ground and it was within spec. Any ideas?
I'm going to go outside and check the current draw to see if its physically working.
TIA!

if there was 0ohm at the heater circuit then you should have blown a fuse, check the fuses

i checked the fuses. what fuse would it blow? in the schematic is looks like that circuit it not fused. ill check again anyways...
