Default BRAKE light comes on randomly.

At random times my brake light will come on, as if the parking brake was pulled....except it does this when I'm driving or just sitting there - basically whenever it feels like. I've read that some of the 6th gens had a problem with a float sticking in the master cylinder....could that be a problem? Has anyone else had this happen?

I've heard of this quite a bit in the 5th gens, I believe they have some sort up switch in under the steering column shroud that can fix it. I posted up in one asking them to describe where it was but I don't recall getting any response.

Pretty common in those cars. We see it all the time at the dealer.

EDIT: The float sticking that is.

probably whatever a new MC cap is, I believe the float is attached, that or it just might need lubed or something, be careful with that being in the brake fluid.

Just replace it. $35 over the counter at the dealer. We always stock them. It's part of the resevoir cap.
