How important is "FLOW" in your oil filter?

I noticed a huge difference in filtration going to a Purelator pure one from a Fram (to be expected).
I started doing some reading and discovered that the Pure One has the best filtration... even better than the Mobil 1.
My question is:
Is the "flow" of a filter very important? I am going to switch to mobil 1 synthetic oil here in the next 1k miles and I want the best filtration for my car. Should I add the extra $ and buy a Mobil 1 filter? It has good filtration and good flow. Or does the Pure One have decent enough "flow"? And what the heck is "flow'?
Btw, I want the filter to have as much filter capacity as possible. The mobil 1 says it has 2x the capacity. Thanks for your help guys.

I have been using Castrol GTX conventional oil and PureOne filters for the last 90K miles on my 303K mile B18A1. Seems to flow well, oil pressures are always perfect.

so you guys wouldn't spring for the Mobil 1? Do you think that the purelator would last just as long?
