Default Password PowerChamber Intake Noise Questions

For those of you who have either j's/passwordjdm cf powerchamber intake aka whale *****. Do you guys hear any high pitch sound at certain rpm like blowing whistles? it got pretty annoying since it's very loud.

Is this normal or i got a leak somwhere?

I just took off my loud *** exhaust and know all I hear is my engine. I too hear that whistle sound, but do not find it annoying. I also thought that I had a leak but ended up just being the intake. I think it sounds pretty sick when vtec engages. Sounds like a rhino doing a death charge towards you.

It's normal. Usually it's at certain trottle position for me.

IMO best sounding intake though.

My hot hot fluid dynamics designed PVC garage made intake has a whistle, mainly because I haven't cleaned up any of the pipe unions yet, or radiused the inlet tube. Air rushing over sharp edges will whistle, no matter what.

I have no noise with mine. You must have a leak somewhere.

i have no noise with mine either....double check all valves, hoses, clamps, etc...and i definitely agree with EK Forever Guy...best sounding intake IMO.

lol actually pretty funny...ive taken SRT-4s through traffic on the highway..and i mean like, embarressed them. and what's even better is that my car is stock (except for intake obviously), and when i got to a light and they got to the light..they actually asked me if i was running a built GSR motor cause it sounded "hella deep"...and when i told them its a bone stock SOHC, he laughed and didnt beleive me...but whatever....yea, thought i should share

thanks for the reply. However, the intake is new, so the filter is new as well.

I've got a few buddies who use the j's intake, they don't have this noise at all. the only time i hear this noise was when i had my generic cai or short ram.

its physics people. air passing by an edge if a surface at the right angle and speed while produce a whistle. its just like a strong wind blowing and you hear a whistle.
