Default civic type-r pistons in ls vtec

i have a ls vtec and a brand new set of civic type-r pistons laying around.the lsvtec is a b18a1+b16 head. pretty much stock but the block has b16 pistons right now. is putting the ctr pistons into the ls/vtec a good idea?

Your compression would be insane..... Not great for a DD.

youd be approaching like 13.5:1 area, thatd be crazy unless you run some real high octane ****.

this engine is not going to be for DD. it's my play motor. i already have a dd, it's a gsr that i'm using and also it has very low miles still. would this be a good idea to do? will it cost me alot of money to have it put in and tuned?

i ran CTR's with a GSR head and 91 and it ran fine with no pinging or detonation. But i had Massive cams and lift to compensate, but it is possible to do and make some awesome power

someone from teamintegra said there is a possibility that it might not fit. he also sed i had to clayed and modified to fit "just" then i can squeeze them in. did u have to do all that?
the head dose not have any upgrades at all at the moment, but wut cams are u running?

yeah that compression ratios not going to do you any good without atleast some pretty aggresive cams and valvetrain

if your going to do that much work you should just bore it out to 82mm with some forged pistons and rods and then you can have some real fun

i ran 82mm CTR's with Blox competitions HSL's. which are equivilant to skunk2 stage 3's with slightly bigger primaries

do it. you won't have any problems. just plan on having to add some race gas to each tank. retard the timing all the way and you should be able to get away with pump gas (but that defeats the purpose of raising the compression). I have used this setup many many times with no problems.

if you have a qualified tuner in your area, e85 would be great for this setup.

i want to do it, but others are saying dont do it. if i dont do it then i bought these pistons for nothing. never gotton a car tuned before yet, but alot of tuners in my area for imports. if i do plan to sell pistons how much can i make from them? standard bore w/ rings, barrings and wrist pins.

you already have enough compression to make use of a whole bunch of cams. what cams are you considering that you need close to 13:1?

you can also use a b20 knife edge the crank put a block gurttle on it shot peen the rods change pistons to up compression. take your b16/gsr head with spring upgrade do a intake/exhaust port you now have a itr head bore it to 84mm to fit block

N/A VTEC POWER REV HIGH 9000RPM
