i have a 250w 2-channel amp and i was wondering what gauge wire to use? i heard a lot of differnt opinions but i am not sure waht to go on. Does it matter what gauge wire really? or will it mess up your whole setup?

 

yes it does matter and i would recommend 8 gauge for that set up. unless you are planning on ever upgrading,then i would just go ahead and run 4 gauge because you can then add another amp or a larger amp in the future. make sure you get a good brand such as street wires or Tsunami by metra. ive seen some off brand companies that have 8 gauge on the insluation but the strands look like 16 gauge speaker wire.
