head gasket
i'm doing a head swap.. i have a 2000 gsr motor and swappin the head to a type-r head.. would it make any big different? would it pass smog still? which gasket should i use n brand name wise and thickens etc? is the GSR and type-r head gasket the same??
thanks
thanks
You gonna use the ITR cam's as well?
And I'll assume you knwo you can't use the GSR intake manifold or the GSR intake tubing?
And you'll have to get tuned and what not as well.
And yes, if you do the above things (can't just upgrade one part, you have to upgrade the PACKAGE) you'll see a nice bump in power. Not ITR power, since you don't have the compression ratio, but a good bump none-the-less.
How much you giving for the ITR head?
ANd the ITR/GSR/b16 head gaskets are all the same

yes that is right, all vtec head gaskets are interchangeable
just go to the auto parts store and purchase an oem replacement, and if you opt for the entire gasket kit for the head then be sure to purchase an itr or b16 gasket kit

anyone have a link about how to make an oem 3 layer a 1 layer? or two layer?
do you take out the center for the two layer?
if I wanted just a one layer, which layer would i use? top mid or bottom?
thanks
