Default K24a2 vs K20a for a swap

So im starting on my project, and have done my preliminary research, but wanted to pick the brains of those who have the first hand experience and knowledge.

Im curious, which would be better, a K24a2 or a K20a. Im aware the power output is higher on the K20a with a higher redline aswell.

Somethings to consider.
1. Price isnt a concern.. Price should never be a concern if you want to do things right.
2. I plan on boosting it at the same time, among other things aswell. What is a good setup for either engine?
3. It needs to remain practical (street worthy), however designed for the track. I dont drive straight lines, nor do i like to drive fast and turn left.. turning right is fun too.
4. Real time AWD...

I know the CRVs came with 'real time AWD' which is why i was ALSO considering the K24a1.. is it even worth it?

Any helpful insight into this would be greatly appreciated. Im really eager to see what kinda performance i can get from either swap. Hell id like to see it out do my GTI, so i would finally have a reason to do more work to it.

werd! thanks alot!

Curious tho.. what would you suggest. I notice you are currently doing a K24, which one are you going for and what is it that you are aiming to achieve.

Oh, and is it even fiasable to humor the notion of putting a AWD tranny into a EM2.

well in my opinion if price isnt a concern and the k20 puts out more power and a higher redline..... i would go with k20.. cuz there are those ricers that think theyre fast and u can burn em easy with the k20. but there can be emergencies where u might need the power.. gotta consider those things too

k20a is a pain in the ***... you need to use 94 plus octane for maximum potential... and its hard to find that around.
Also if the tranny goes bad, again its more expensive to find it.
I'm having these problems.
K24 will give you more torque too.. which is more important. and best part is that its cheaper.

k24 for boost. the bigger the better

k20a compression and tranny are fantastic for the track and N/A but if ur going to go mega boost...go with displacement and upgrade the transmission

kasimmmm...the k20a tranny is practically the same as the new SI. You can get the parts from honda now.

k24a1 w/k20a2 head - slight internals, hoping for 230-250whp, all motor.

no - awd tranny won't work on our cars, unless you did a lot of fabrication. = $$$$$

k24 is the new way!!!

k20a2's are going extinct

and k20z1's are more ofa bitch to swap in than a2's and k20z3's i think are "impossible?" drive by wire... ftl

i forsee the k24/k20 being the new/ most common swap out there.

230-250whp is actually what im aiming for.. if you are doing it all motor, im gonna have to do more research, cause id rather put those numbers up NA than boosted.

.. and yeah, i did some calling around on my lunch break, awd not fiasable... a nice thought but oh well.

research around k20a.org, that's the only place you need to look at.

for example, look at this setup:
