well i checked the valve springs and set the front at .007 and the back at .008 and i still have a small tic in it i just wanted to see what other people think of it and yes it sounds like its coming from the top end.and its a b16a

im the same one with the idle controll valve problem ive replaced it and i still have the high rev low rev kinda fast for a while then it will stop it not normal.

If the engine is making a ticking noise, sounds like it may have to do with either valves or knock. I would suggest getting it checked at a mechanic.

If it's a rock stock motor, here are my two cents.

Unless you down shifted and revved to 10k accidentally, then all that is happening is you are now hearing the tick that was there all along. You already checked valve specs and they were in at .007 and .008. If there were bent valves, then the adjustment would be off because the valve won't close all the way if it's bent.

90% of vtec motors have LMA tick and it's just a fact of life when they get older. You can either replace LMA's or just deal with the tick.

I would be willing to go out on a limb and say you are fine and you just noticed this because now you "think" something is wrong. There is no such thing as hitting the limiter "too hard" when you are accelerating.

And edit your user name, remove the H, it's rediculous

He was just joking I hope, but there comes a point where "vtech" jokes just aren't even that funny anymore.
