Default Thinking of putting a sway bar on my 4th gen

I'm thinking of putting a sway bar on my 4th gen coupe.
Some guy told me once it was bad to just put a sway bar on a car without a tower strut.
I have a front strut, looking to put the sway in the rear, I don't have a rear tower strut bar.
Is this o.k?

you'll be fine, I had front and rear sway bars on my 95 EX and I didn't have any strut bars.

cool, now the only bar I could find was the progress sway for my gen.
site says it weighs 30lbs.
Is that right?

no way, that thing doesn't weigh 30lbs. It says shipping weight, I'm wondering if thats the shipping weight of the front and rear sway bar even though the listing is for the rear only. But I'm sure that bar doesn't weigh 30lbs.

You can also get a Suspension Techniques sway bar, TASAuto (as well as others I'm sure) sells them...

yeah, I'm just saying I think they have gotten their weights mixed up is all. That listing is just for the rear sway bar.

I emailed them, 30lbs is their approximate shipping weight.
I guess they do that for shipping pricing.

What? Huh? Most cars come factory with sway bars, and no strut tower bar. It is fine.

My ST front sway bar weighs in at 15 lbs. Along with bushings, end links, and other various hardware used in the installation, it gets pretty heavy.
