what should i do?
the stock sound deadening matrial is dirty as hell and i cant seem to clean it all? and i want to repaint the inside chasis so should i try to clean it the best i can and paint over the stock or chip it all off and put dynmat in after i paint ?
I'd say leave it the way it is and just paint over it...I heard it's a pita to take those off...chisel, dry ice etc...and after you remove all those deadening material, you're bound to scratch or nick the interior by doing so...now you're back to square one..
Although I've seen a car without all those and it's really Clean! I'm just lazy i suppose

well im planning on nothing going in the back as this will be my weekend driver. so take it out and paint +1 for bling factor. but will it be tooo loud to hear music (only putting front speakers in) or other things while car is idel? right now its straight header im trying to rig somthing from old exahust ... anyways iv seen it taken out and painted in an EG it looks mad clean also with a strut bar and full painted roll cage . i like the look but is it worth all the noise?
It's gna b loud...our cars don't really have good sound deadening to begin with so the oem ones help...you can take em off, if it's too loud for ya, then there's always dynamat like you said.
do you have any idea of what i should use to try and clean it all with . it thick on there and look horible if i just painted over it ,i have already tried degreaser and simple green.

ya but 700 bucks and it runs i said what the hell lol. under all the wood there was good stuff foam everywhere most of that is out . i want an alarm in my car for security so im going to repaint the hatch and use the interior to cover up wires and sensors but im not 100% on using interior i love the clean look so ya. i will try b16's idea and try tar remover on saterday and go from there .also the key for the hatch has been removed so theres a hole there ? should i take it somewhere and have them basicaly shave that ? or any other ideas?
I believe someone already said it but....dry ice. Yea it's a pita but if it was easy it would be done already. I took the hard approch cause I didn't know about the dry ice trick, so I'm not sure how cleanly it leaves it. If there's anything left you can use a drill with a wire brush and finish up with some adhesive remover or paint thinner.
