How many miles can the B18A/B go ?????
Just wondering what mileage people have on their B18's.
I purchased a pristine one owner 93 DA about two years ago. It had been meticulously maintained with synthetic oil since 60,000 miles. I bought it with 136,000 miles and now just passed 150,000 miles.
Can I expect to get 250,000 out of it. It's a commuter car but I rack up a lot of miles.
Wondering what some of you have in terms of mileage on the original engine (without having to rebuild it).

I swapped a JDM cluster in to mine, has about 238k on her now. Runs amazing. Swapping for a ls/vtec though

Very possible for any honda engine to rack up 3/4 of a million KM over the years.
I had 320 XXX km on my old d16z6 before I pulled it in favor for my b18b and the car ran amazing with the engine.
Just typical maintenance and the trip to redline will keep the engine in place for the years to come
I just picked up a b18b with 299 xxx km to rebuild but due to me selling the car I cant do it...but the engine was pulled from a perfectly running teg

I have 303K miles, still runs perfect and get over 30 mpg avg. It has been running Castrol GTX conventional motor oil ever since I bought her with alittle over 200K miles. I drive pretty hard at times too. A/C even works, although I did swap in a new compressor 75K miles ago and switched to R134a.
I have been buying parts for an all-motor rebuild, but can't bring myself to crack her open while she is running as good as she is. Oh well, maybe at 350K miles I will rebuild her.

my buddy has around 220k on his and had no major problems with it, its recently been rebuilt though for turbo but before that it ran like a champ.... no noises from the engine at all.
I've got 223,000 on one 90 DA, and 197,000 on my daily DA. Both have had headgaskets done, yes, but that was more preventative than anything; excellent compression still in both.
Secret is good oil changes and not stomping on it every time you put your foot on the go pedal. Redline should not be an excuse.
To top it all off - I has an 86 Accord LXi, one of the pop up lights ones that had 467,835mi original miles on it when I pulled the engine; turns out the oil eating was just a busted black breather box.

my old 94 ls had 213000 on it and ran perfect, the car rotted out and i tore down the motor and it looked like brand new inside, the guy i sold it to built it up and is running 10s on that block with stock crank and complete head! 250000 should not be a problem if you dont drive pedal to the metal all the time and do burnouts
